KLab’s “Love Live! School Idol Festival” Reaches 20 Million Players Worldwide

Tokyo, Japan ‐ September 17, 2015 - KLab Inc., a leader in online mobile games, announced today that Love Live! School Idol Festival, its hit game co-developed with Bushiroad Inc., reached a new record of 20 million players worldwide on August 14, 2015. A series of events will be held to commemorate this achievement.

Round One

For seven days starting Monday, September 21, all players will receive free items such as Love Gems and Scouting Tickets as a special login bonus.

Round Two

Nine new Rare cards featuring outfits from “KiRa-KiRa Sensation!” will be added to Honor Student Scouting and Regular Student Scouting.

Round Three

The songs “HEART to HEART!” and “Arashi no Naka no Koi dakara,” written to commemorate Love Live! School Idol Festival reaching 11 million players in Japan and 15 million players worldwide, will be released on October 28. For this event, “HEART to HEART!” will be available in the game starting Thursday, October 15 at 4 pm (UTC+9) giving players a rare chance to hear the song before its official release.

As in the previous year, there will be three consecutive months of singles released featuring a special collaboration with School Idol Festival starting this November.

The first set of singles will contain a serial code used to claim a limited edition Super Rare Idolized card in the game. (Each single contains one of three serial codes inserted at random.)

Round Four

In the “You Decide! Request Your Favorite Ultra Rare Cards” contest, players can vote for their favorite Super Rare and Ultra Rare costumes that appear in the game for each of the μ’s members. Special Ultra Rare cards will be created for all nine members featuring the outfits chosen by voters. These cards will be given out to players as a special login bonus.

 Voting Period: Wednesday, September 30 at 4 pm to Thursday, October 15 at 3 pm (UTC+9)
 Results are scheduled to be announced in late October.

Ultra Rare card distribution event times and other details will be delivered via in-game announcements.

Round Five

All-Japan Love Live! School Idol Festival Game Tournament and Celebration Event 2016 A special tournament was held from April to June of this year, culminating in the highly successful All-Japan Love Live! School Idol Festival Game Tournament and Celebration Event 2015. Next year’s event promises to be even better.

Love Live! School Idol Festival

Love Live! is a cross-media project based on the concept, “a story in which we make our dreams come true.” A youth drama that follows nine high school girls who form an idol group called “μ’s” (pronounced “Muse”) in an attempt to save their school, the group featured in the story has been adapted for various forms of media, including CDs packaged with animated music videos (available on DVD and Blu-ray), magazines, novels, and other publications, televised anime series, a smartphone game, video games, trading card games, as well as live events, radio programs, and live broadcasts on Niconico featuring the real-life cast of μ's.

The first season of the Love Love! anime aired from January to March 2013, and the second season aired from April to June 2014. The real-life cast of μ's had their fifth solo performance at Saitama Super Arena on January 31 and February 1, 2015. The highly acclaimed feature length film Love Live! The School Idol Movie, currently in theaters, was released on June 13, 2015.
